CRITIQUE:
Describe: This is a series of three photos the top one being of green leaves , the middle being of yellow leaves, and the bottom being bright red. All three photos were taken up close and in focus of a few leaves. The leaves in the top photo are different from the leaves in the bottom two. All three photos are very vibrant and printed on glossy paper. The photos were each made by adjusting the vibrancy and levels. My goal was to show the different colors of fall and make sure they were all distinctly different.
Analyze: In this photo the color creates emphasis because the colors in each photo are not dull and stand out and, against each other they become stronger. This connection is happening in all three photos and in the "image" as a whole. It is being used to show a variety and make the viewers eye move down the piece. This is important because it is good to learn how to have three different photos or any number of photos and make them stronger and look better as a whole. Also in this photo, the texture creates repetition. The connection is happening within all three photos mostly the bottom two because they are the same type of leaf just in different stages of color. It is being used to show not only the change in color but also how the texture can become thicker on the leaf. This is important because you can become stronger at taking the same object and have it show up in various places of your work but not seem boring.
Interpret: The idea of this piece could be change because the entire focus was to show change in color of leaves in the short amount of time that fall begins and this can apply to anything. Also , the mood of this piece could depend on the viewer because some people enjoy the colors changing meaning winter is coming while others could dread it and it could become stressful for them because they don’t like winter.
